Abstract

Many different and innovative approaches to prevention and treatment of cerebral vasospasm have been made, most of them promising in the laboratory but unsuccessful in clinical usage. This has been due in part to a lack of understanding of the pathogenesis of vasospasm. Furthermore, there is no animal model that duplicates all of the key aspects of human cerebral vasospasm.
