Zusammenfassung
Mollusken mit großflächiger Kalk-Abscheidung des Mantels zu mehreren Platten oder einheitlicher Schale. Mitteldarm in Oesophagus mit Nahrungsrinne und einem Paar Oesophagealdrüsen, in Magen mit paariger Mitteldarmdrüse und in gewundenes Intestinum gegliedert. Die Pericardiodukte sind exkretorisch: Emunktorien. Primär mit Subradular-Organ und mit chondroidem Radula-Stützpolster. Umfaßt die monophyletischen Gruppen Placophora und Conchifera mit ca. 55 000 Arten.
