Abstract
‘Renal mass’ is today, more often than not, a radiologic diagnosis. The increasing use of abdominal ultrasonography and CT scanning has led to a 5-fold increase in the serendipitous detection of small renal masses over the past 2 decades. This advance has contributed, in part, to a decrease in the incidence of metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
