Zusammenfassung
Das Cervixcarcinom ist nach Brustkrebs die weltweit zweithäufigste Krebsart bei Frauen. In Europa liegt die Inzidenz bei 15–20 Neuerkrankungen pro 100.000 Frauen (davon ca. 50–60% Frühstadien). In Ländern der dritten Welt liegt die Inzidenz mehr als doppelt so hoch. Nach Einführung des Cervixcarcinomscreenings kam es zu einer deutlichen Verschiebung von fortgeschrittenen Stadien zu den Früh-und Vorstadien. Die cervicale intraepitheliale Neoplasie (CIN) ist die Präcancerose, die mit einer Latenz von 10 Jahren und mehr in ein invasives Plattenepithelcarcinom übergehen kann.
