Zusammenfassung

Es gibt eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Erkrankungen, bei denen die Pleura als primäres Organ betroffen ist. Viel häufiger jedoch kommt es zu krankhaften Veränderungen im Sinne einer sekundären Mitbeteiligung der Pleura. Bei den meisten benignen und malignen Pleuraerkrankungen kommt es zur Ergussbildung, die in Abhängigkeit vom Flüssigkeitsvolumen zu erheblichen klinischen Symptomen führen kann. Deshalb muss meist schon aus therapeutischen Gründen eine Entlastungspunktion durchgeführt werden. Die Punktionsanalyse des Pleuraergusses umfasst neben der Zytomorphologie des Pleurasediments auch ein großes Spektrum an Laboruntersuchungen aus der Pleuraflüssigkeit.
