Resonances Beyond the Proton Drip-Line

Proton decay from deformed nuclei is studied, assuming that the emitted proton moves in a deformed single particle Nilsson resonance. The half-lives for decay are evaluated exactly, and important nuclear structure informations on the decaying nucleus, like angular momentum and deformation can be determined from these resonances. At present, all measured deformed proton emitters are perfectly described by this model.
