And Once Again the Visual Memory

  • Jürgen Weber

Abstract

My basic belief is that it is the reproduction memory as a part of the general declaration memory which makes us different from the animals. They have essentially only an identification memory — and perhaps a short-term memory. This reproduction memory is one of the most important bases of our consciousness, of visual perception, our ability to observe, in other words of thinking. The incredible way in which we currently neglect the improvement of our reproduction memory is one of the most important reasons for the increasing failure to think independently, to have become dependent on the media and to do the same things all over the world — and to neglect the same things.
