Zusammenfassung
Die Bekämpfung der Meningitis durch Sulfonamide gehörte wohl zu den aufsehenerregendsten Fällen dieser Therapie, da vor Einführung der Sulfonamide zur Heilung der Meningitiden über 30%, ja bis zu 80% der Fälle in wenigen Tagen zum Tode führten, indes heute bei epidemischer Meningitis die Mortalität sogar auf 5% gesunken ist.
