Abstract
In the field of neurophysiology, general techniques of manipulation under optical microscopy enable the brain physiologist to carry out very interesting experiments on specific areas of the brain of insects in an endeavor to get a better understanding of the origin and the underlying mechanism of instinctive behavior.
