Zusammenfassung

Ursprünglich war beabsichtigt, nur die Meiose der pflanzlichen Apomikten in dieser Arbeit Zn behandeln, wie dies Marguerite Narbel-Hofstetter mit so großer Sorgfalt für die parthenogenetischen Tiere getan hat (Protoplasmatologia, Bd. VI, F. 2, 1964). Schon bei der Zusammenstellung der Spezialarbeiten zeigte sich dann aber, daß es in manchen Fällen nicht möglich ist, die beobachteten Teilungstypen zu interpretieren, ohne gleichzeitig den antithetischen Generationswechsel zu berücksichtigen. Wir haben uns daher dazu entschließen müssen, auch embryologische Arbeiten, insbesondere die Entwicklungstypen des unreduzierten Embryosacks der Blütenpflanzen, in diese Arbeit einzubeziehen. Schließlich stellte sich heraus, daß auch Beziehungen zwischen dem Meiosetypus und dem Fortpflanzungsmodus der pflanzlichen Apomikten bestehen, deren Kenntnis zum Verständnis der vielen verschiedenen Stufen der Degeneration der Meiose und ihrer Verbreitung innerhalb des Organismus und zwischen den verschiedenen Arten unerläßlich ist. Da wir ferner auch den äußeren und inneren Ursachen der Meioseveränderungen der Apomikten nachgehen wollten, entwickelte sich dieser Bericht schließlich zu einer allgemeinen Übersicht über das Phänomen der Apomixis, wobei aber entsprechend der Intention des Herausgebers des Handbuches das Hauptgewicht doch auf die Veränderungen der Meiose, ihre Ursachen und ihre Konsequenzen gelegt wird.
