Abstract

I am going to summarize briefly the conclusions we have reached about indications and use of hypothermia in neurosurgery, but first I would like to thank all the distinguished reporters to this Symposium. Their important original contributions enable us to make a valuable up to date review of the problems concerning the systemic and neurological pathophysiology of the hypothermic state, the clinical indications of hypothermia and the various techniques of anaesthesia.
