Zusammenfassung

Wie schwer die otogene Meningitis vor der Sulfon-amid- und antibiotischen Aera verlief und wie beschleiden die damaligen Erfolge waren, ist wohl am deutlichsten den Statistiken aus diesem Zeitraum zu entnehmen. Zange kommt 1935 auf Grund einer Sammelstatistik auf eine durchschnittliche Mortalität von 72%.
