Zusammenfassung

Die posttraumatisch auftretende Thrombose der Arteria carotis interna ist nach perforierenden Verletzungen des Halses wohl immer wiieder beobachtet worden, nach stumpfen Traumen stellt sie eine äußerst seltene Unfallsfolge dar. Vorwiegend sind es Einzelbeobachtungen, über die im Schrifttum berichtet wird. Lediglich Isfort konnte in 5 Fällen, Verbliest bei 3 Patienten, Zettel, Schneider und Lemmen sowie Richter und Kaeser je zweimal das Vorliegen einer Karotisthrombose als Folge einer stumpfen Verletzung nachweisen.
