Abstract
In addition to hematological diagnosis based on the blood count, the hemoglobin, erythrocyte count, hematocrit, and the erythrocytes indices MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin), MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration), and MCV (mean corpuscular volume), a number of other important laboratory tests are also indispensable in the differential diagnosis of iron metabolism.
