Abstract
Open form approaches to the analysis of structural systems are usually complicated to a significant degree by the transition from a statics to a dynamics analysis; however, for a field approach the addition of D’Alembert inertial forces or time dependent loads does not significantly complicate the analysis. As a working hypothesis, one could, over the protests of specialists in structural dynamics, characterize a trivial field problem as one whose solution is made much more complex by the addition of time dependent effects in the model. It is the goal of this section to illustrate use of the micro discrete field approach to the dynamic analysis of selected simple but nontrivial structural lattices.
