Abstract
The survival rate for acute subdural haematoma and the functional recovery of the patients are still unsatisfactory although decompressive hemicraniectomy in addition to clot removal has been used over the last five years in our clinic. We have retrospectively reviewed and analysed the last 15 cases with hemicraniectomies performed for unilateral acute subdural haematomas for assessment of the outcome following this operative procedure.
