Abstract

The prognosis of outcome in the acute stage after severe head injury is of outstanding interest for both the patient’s doctor and relatives. The course of neurological symptoms and biochemical data during the first days after injury has been evaluated by several authors to find out parameters that correlate with the clinical course and the outcome of the patient (Jennett and coworkers, Heller and Oldenkott, Brodersen and Jorgensen).
