Abstract
Earlier, less definite global coagulation studies of CSF yielded sporadic indications both on the coagulation-promoting and on the inhibiting effect94, 240. In the light of our present knowledge attempts were made to detect some factors necessary for the endogenic and exogenic coagulation process 200, 287, 294 Apart from some of the thrombelastographic results obtained which appeared to promote coagulation 101, the results obtained regarding the activities of the clotting factors remained contradictory. No difference was noted between normal, inflammatorily changed and blood-stained CSF. All the analyses referred to CSF, without more precise indications.
