This vascular tumor is constituted by Zimmerman’s pericytes-like cells (see pag. 10) surrounding capillary to sinusoidal vascular spaces. Unlike hemangioendothelioma and angiosarcoma, the endothelium lining these vessels is single-layered, flattened and bland, even in the most immature and malignant types of hemangiopericytoma.
