Abstract

Digital radiology, or digital evolution in radiology, is more than a mere part of an integrated health care enterprise, it is more than only a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), or a HIS (Hospital Information System), or a RIS (Radiology Information System) or archiving or monitor reporting or digital radiography, digital modalities such as computed tomography, magnet resonance tomography, digital subtraction angiography, ultrasound, digital fluoroscopy or digital flat panel detectors. Digital radiology is part of a global system comprised of all these components, with radiologists being the interface for the patient.
