Zusammenfassung
Das klinische Bild des akuten fieberhaften Rheumatismus ist vielgestaltig, die histologischen Befunde sind jedoch typisch. Klinisch handelt es sich um eine Krankheitseinheit. Trotz der Tatsache, daß die aktive Erkrankung lange Zeit ohne Fieber und ohne rheumatische Manifestationen verlaufen kann, hat der Ausdruck „akuter fieberhafter Rheumatismus“ vielen erfolglosen Versuchen zu seiner Ersetzung standgehalten.
