Abstract
The job of the neurologist is to look at behavioural patterns, at changes in behaviour and in the mental state of patients, and to relate these to bodily abnormalities such as strokes, tumours, cysts, or degenerative disorders. The abnormalities are however directly linked to changes in the dynamic equilibrium, in homeostasis and in functional intraneuronal responses. The structural relationships of these major events can be seen by studying Table 3. In our present state of knowledge we can assume that any changes in the regulatory parameters of the nervous system will lead to changes in behaviour of the most varied kinds, depending on the system affected, the changes that have occurred, and the extent and precise location of the disturbances.
