Abstract

The aim of this Chapter is to show on a few simple examples the influence of heat conduction on the propagation of acoustical and shock waves in thermoelastic materials. We limit our considerations to the most immediate results bearing in mind the compact form of this article. Many interesting details can be found in the paper of M. F. McCarthy1975.
