Abstract
Infants comprise only a small fraction of the total number of cases of cranio-cerebral trauma encountered in neuropathology. The lesions found in infants and children older than 1 or 2 years do not differ in principle from those seen in adults. Numerous excellent descriptions of the pathologic features of lacerations, contusions, and of the various types of traumatic hemorrhages—epidural, subdural, subarachnoid and intracerebral—are available in the medical literature, and describing them here would exceed the limitations of this text; reference is made only to lesions characteristic of infancy.
