Zusammenfassung
Die pharmakologische Hauptwirkung besteht in einer Verbesserung gestörter Hirnstoffwechselprozesse bei Hypoxie, Ischämie und Intoxikation. Tierexperimentell bewirkt Pyritinol unter pathologischen Bedingungen im ZNS eine Steigerung der Glukoseaufnahme und -Verwertung (Greiner et al. 1988), des Nukleinsäurestoffwechsel (Kanig 1974), des neuronalen Membranstoffwechsels mit signifikanter Erhöhung der Phospholipide, insbesondere des Phosphatidylcholin (Martin 1989), der kortikalen Acetylcholin-Freisetzung und cholinergen Transmission (Martin und Vyas 1987, Greiner et al. 1988, Pavlik und Pilar 1989).
