Intracerebellar Target Areas
Neocerebellum, that is, hemisphere, middle and upper cerebellar peduncle. A defect here is followed by locomotoric ataxia. An incomplete defect may be compensated by intact sections
Palaeocerebellum, that is, Vermis (except Nodu-lus) and inferior cerebellar peduncle. Its defect is followed by static ataxia. Compensation may be problematic if upper segments of Vermis are destroyed
Archicerebellum, that is, flocculonodular area. Its defect on one side is followed by a defect of optokinetic nystagm on one side
