Zusammenfassung

Hunter (nach Castellani-Chalmers) beschrieb bereits 1792 auf Jamaika bösartige Geschwüre, die der Beschreibung nach dem Ulcus tropicum entsprachen. 1857 beschrieb Vinson ein „Ulcère di Mozambique“, 1862–1864 folgten Beschreibungen eines ulcère annamite von Cras, Rochard, Laure, Bassignot und Richaud; 1862 und 1863 solche von Cras, Rochard über das Cochinchinageschwür und 1864 führte Leroy De Mèricart die Bezeichnung „Phagedaenic ulcer of warm countries“ ein. Chappuis fand 1864 in Französisch-Guyana Geschwüre, die den Mozambiquegeschwüren glichen. Bechtinger beschrieb (1869) Jemengeschwüre, Grenet (1867) solche von Madagaskar.
