Abstract

Numerical Indices of Cardiovascular Status. The increasing development of digital techniques in physiology opens up the possibility of expressing cardiovascular status as a single number. Three initial steps are required before the data are combined; the selection of suitable parameters to be measured, the transformation of the measurements into numerical form, and the assignment of a weighting factor to each variable.

The heart rate, blood pressure, cardiac output and peripheral vascular resistance are obvious candidates for this treatment, and it is probable that a reliable estimate of the functional state of the circulation can be derived from them alone. This paper will describe some of the ways in which information can be obtained in the desired form, and the advantages and limitations of the analytical method.

Indices numériques de l’état cardioyasculaire. Le développement constant des techniques numériques en physiologie ouvre la possibilité d’exprimer l’état cardiovasculaire par un nombre unique. Trois étapes sont nécessaires avant de combiner les données: le choix des paramètres convenables à mesurer, la transformation des grandeurs mesurées en valeurs numériques, et l’attribution d’un coefficient de pondération à chaque variable.

Le rythme cardiaque, la pression sanguine, le débit cardiaque et la résistance vasculaire périphérique sont tout à fait désignés pour ce traitement, et il est vraisemblable qu’une estimation sûre de l’état fonctionnel de la circulation peut être obtenue à partir de ces seules données. Dans le présent rapport, on décrit certaines des méthodes permettant d’obtenir l’information sous la forme voulue, ainsi que les avantages et les limites de la méthode analytique.

Числовые индексы состояния сердечно-сосудистой системы. Благодаря быстрому развитию цифровых методов в физиологии открывается возможность выразить состояние сердечно-сосудистой системы одним числом. Для сочетания данных требуется три предварительных первоначальных стадии: отбор подходящих параметров для измерения, преобразование результатов измерений в числовую форму и определение фактора веса для каждой переменной.

Число биений сердца, кровяное давление, работа, производимая сердцем, и периферическая устойчивость сосудов очевидно являются факторами, требующими такой обработки, и весьма вероятно, что на основе только этих данных можно получить достоверную оценку функционального состояния системы кровообращения. В настоящем докладе дается описание некоторых методов получения информации в желательной форме и характеристика преимуществ и недостатков аналитического метода.
