The vortex amplifier fig. 27 (see page 48) consists of a circular chamber with the outlet along the axis of symmetry of the chamber. The control flow is introduced tangentially, so that the con trol stream will impinge on the incoming power stream. With no control flow the power stream flows radially from the entry to the centre outlet and experiences little more than pipe elbow resistance.
