Models of Detonation Waves with Internal Structure
The chemical reactions in gases have mostly chain mechanism, i.e. in the course of reaction between initial substances many new intermediate species will be formed and these species are responsible for the continuation of the reaction. The combustion of gas mixtures is a complicated process consisting of many elementary reactions. The rates of these reactions determine the rate of the global reaction. Only in a limited number of simplest reactions their rates are known with sufficient accuracy, in most cases the rates are known very approximately or are unknown at all.
