Asymptotic Behaviour of Decaying Detonation Waves
In some cases of initiation of detonative combustion the detonation wave is initially strongly overdriven. This will happen for instance, in the case of concentrated energy release in combustible gas mixture. With the time the detonation wave will get weaker under the influence of rarefaction waves overtaking it from behind and can approach the limiting Ch.-J. regime. Let us investigate the laws of its approach to this limit [3,4].
