Abstract

When the expressions of the absorption and emission cross-sections have been specified, a formal solution of the eq. (5.8) can be easily obtained if the term (1/c) (∂/∂t) I v is assumed to be negligible: observe, however, that this is not essential assumption, and it is made only for the sake of greater simplicity of the treatment.
