Abstract

In this chapter first we collect all basic equations for the nonlinear theory, Art. 4.2, and those for the linear theory, (Art. 4.3), of micropolar thermoelasticity. The jump conditions, initial conditions and the pertinent kinematical formulae are listed. The field equations for the displacement, microrotation and temperature fields are obtained in Art. 4.4. In Art. 4.5 we present the proof of the uniqueness theorem for the linear case under rather a general set of boundary and initial conditions.
