Abstract

Fig. 16-17 compare the results obtained by a designer after several months of trials using only drafting techniques and those obtained with the computer in few seconds of computation time. These results have been obtained by using a program written by Professor’s Sandor’s team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to which we added the possibility of displaying the results using MEDES. The designer used a six bar linkage, whilst, yet at the first trial, several usable four bar linkages were generated by Prof. Sandor’s program. By moving the precision points selected, several other solutions would have been proposed to the designer.
