Abstract

According to the principle of determinism for stress and to the principle of local action, at an instant t of time the stress in elastic body at a point X̰ is determined by the relation of the form
$$\underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\thicksim}$}}{t} = \underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\thicksim}$}}{t} [\underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\thicksim}$}}{F} (\underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\thicksim}$}}{X} ,t)],$$
(4.1)
where F̰ is the matrix of the deformation gradients corresponing to a deformation
$${x^i} = {x^i}(\underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\thicksim}$}}{X} ,t) = {x^i}({X^1},{X^2},{X^3};t).$$
