In the process of evolution that the science continuously follows, two facts are relevant to the study that we are going to undertake: namely

    the icreasing power of an abstract mathematical model, the automaton, as to cover a variety of different entities; and, on a higher level

  2. ii.

    the massive growth of System Theory as a unifying discipline, to encompass a number of topics falling in the classical range of “Mathematics for Engineers”.
