Some Coding Problems and Theorems Relative to Sources Having a Utility Distribution
It is generally felt that in Information Theory some quantities become possibly of interest on account of some coding theorem in which they arise in a natural way. So for instance Shannon’s entropy, although perhaps interesting on its own, becomes exceedingly important because of the existence of some deep theorems in which it plays a central role.
