Optimization Theory in the Design of Elastic-Plastic Structures
In the mechanics of solids, two general types of problems are dealt with, i.e. those concerning the determination of the stress and strain state of a body subject to various external actions and the problems in which the same values are determined for a body under certain conditions, e.g. plastic failure, locking, etc. The investigation of the latter is referred to as the limit analysis.
