Parameters for Vibration Analysis on Rotating Machinery

Abstract

For the most common rotating machinery problems, vibration analysis is usually a straightforward procedure. The primary vibration source is often estimated by using only vibration amplitude and frequency data. However, with the high cost of today’s machinery and the even larger investment in plant processes, an “estimate” of the machinery problem is not good enough. In order to increase the accuracy of vibration analysis decision making, other measurement parameters must be used. This paper will present some of the lesser used techniques by way of machinery case histories.
