Abstract
The different GPS modes to be used for kinematic road surveying depend on the accuracy level required for the GIS. Several applications are possible: real time location of commercial vehicles, of accidents and landslide interruptions, real time navigation and location of rescue vehicles, cadaster of road and their belongings, cadaster of geometrical parameters of roads, location of statistical and real time enviromental parameter values.
Postprocessed and real time DGPS, integrated with a gyro header and an odometer have been experimented, as well as the interferential continuous kinematic GPS, both postprocessed and in real time.
An analysis of the various errors affecting the DGPS surveys is presented together with the prediction of the RDOP geometric statistic parameter.
