Abstract
Optimal utilization of given space is a significant problem which occurs in design of the elements of transporting and storage systems. Optimal space utilization figures as a factor which can influence the unit selling price of a product. Different possible cases of space arrangement are analyzed in the paper. The selected of linear programming proved to give satisfying results in determining of the optimal space arrangement. The results will be compared with the results of some practical methods. Finally, the direction of possible further work in this area will be given at the end of the article.
