Abstract
Forces in generating gear grinding were investigated. On the basis of detailed analysis of generation of a tooth profile in this manufacturing operation theoretical approach was developed to calculate grinding forces in each generating stroke of grinding wheel. Variations of such parameters like: cross-section area and shape of the material laver being removed, wheelspeed, radius of curvature of conical grinding wheel, etc. were taken into consideration. Measurements of grinding forces were also carried out and experimental results were compared with the calculated ones.
