Superior-Based Pedicle Quadrantectomy and Defect Reconstruction with Inferior-Based Pedicle: Secondary Prophylactic Mastectomy and Implant Reconstruction
A 42-year-old woman was diagnosed with a 25 mm receptor-positive G3 carcinoma in the upper outer quadrant of the left breast. Due to tumor biology and the size of the tumor, the patient underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy. She had a partial clinical remission with small scattered foci of malignant microcalcifications remaining within the original tumor bed. The breast was of medium size and ptotic (Fig. 26.1a–d).
