Zusammenfassung

Neurologische Erkrankungen spielen in der „geriatrischen Notfallversorgung“ eine bedeutende Rolle. Der Behandlungserfolg hängt bei vielen neurologischen Krankheiten davon ab, ob die Diagnose frühzeitig und richtig gestellt wird und eine ursachengerechte Behandlung schnell eingeleitet wird. Daraus ergibt sich, dass eine primäre Versorgung dieser Patienten auf neurologischem Facharztstandard erfolgen muss. Aufgrund der Kürze dieses Beitrages kann nur ein Auszug der wichtigsten und häufigsten Krankheitsbilder beschrieben werden. Verschiedene relevante Krankheiten, wie z. B. das Delir, werden an anderer Stelle dieses Buches beschrieben. Der Schwerpunkt des Inhalts liegt in diagnostischen und differenzialdiagnostischen Überlegungen sowie in der Beschreibung von Therapiemöglichkeiten in der Akutphase unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des geriatrischen Patienten. Risikofaktoren und Primärprävention der jeweiligen Erkrankungen werden in diesem Beitrag über „Geriatrische Notfallversorgung“ nicht berücksichtigt.
