Sie erkennen und bewerten diese hinsichtlich ihrer Risiken für Lebewesen, Lebensgemeinschaften und die Umwelt. Martin Gerzabek hat sich auf die Mobilität von Schwermetallen, organischen Schadstoffen und Radionukliden spezialisiert: Er untersucht die Mobilität von Schadstoffen im System Boden-Pflanze und modelliert Transferpfade zum Menschen. Abstract

Environmental toxicology, also known as entox, is a multidisciplinary field of science focused on the systemic and systematic effects of agents on living organisms. It uses methods from the fields of biology, toxicology, environmental chemistry and ecology. Environmental toxicologists analyze the hazard potential of toxic agents in various ecosystems. They detect and evaluate these hazards in terms of the risk to the living organism, population and environment. Martin Gerzabek has specialized in the mobility of heavy metals, organic toxic agents and radionuclides: he examines the mobility of pollutants in the soil-plant system and creates models for transfer paths to humans. In addition, he is also interested in plant nutrition, especially nutrient interactions.
