II y a blanc de titre et c’est peut-être ainsi que ça commence. Quoi? On ne peut pas le dire. On ne peut pas dire au commencement ce qui commence. On ne peut même pas dire au commencement que ça commence. Quand on le dit, quand on dit «ça commence», c’est déjà commencé et c’est par conséquent déjà fini de commencer : ça commence à finir. On ne peut pas dire où ça commence, ni quand — ce qui est la même chose, une même chose d’espace-temps qu’on ne peut pas dire.

Abstract

A blank for a title and perhaps that is how it begins. What? We cannot say that. We cannot begin by saying that it is beginning. We cannot even say at the beginning that it is beginning. When we say that, when we say ‘it is beginning’, it has already begun and has already finished beginning: it has begun to finish. We cannot say where it begins, or when — which is the same thing — the same thing in space-time that we cannot say.
