Zusammenfassung

Die chronischen Arthritiden werden unter dem Begriff juvenile idiopathische Arthritis (JIA) zusammengefasst. Definitionsgemäß wird ein Erkrankungsbeginn vor dem 16. Lebensjahr und eineMindestdauer der Erkrankung von 6 Wochen gefordert. Juvenile idiopathische Arthritiden sind etwa zehnmal seltener als Arthritiden im Erwachsenenalter, zeigen andere Präsentationen und einen oft günstigeren Verlauf [2–7, 9, 10, 14, 15].
