Zusammenfassung
Im Rahmen einer arbeitsteiligen Gesellschaft wird der Bedarf nach Gesundheitsleistungen zunehmend von einer Vielzahl spezialisierter Anbieter (Krankenhäuser, Ambulanzen und Fachärzte) abgedeckt. Entsprechend der konkreten Ausgestaltung des Gesundheitssystems können diese Spezialanbieter entweder von den Patienten auf direktem Weg oder durch Überweisung ihres Hausarztes konsultiert werden. Im Regelfall sollte jedoch der Hausarzt die Rolle einer ersten Anlaufstelle übernehmen und mit dem Patienten die weiteren Behandlungsschritte abklären und — falls notwendig — eine Überweisung an geeignete Spezialisten medizinischer Leistungen vornehmen.
