Abstract

The Bern-Neufeld interchange is located in a forest clearing not far from the city center. At this location contrasts clash head on: seemingly undisturbed nature meets geometrically modeled space with curved slopes and sharp dips in the terrain. To ensure optimal traffic flow, the topography of the interchange has been defined by longish on and off ramps. Several modifications of the routes have led to transformation of the plastic soil masses, which are gradually being reclaimed by nature.
