Wie bereits erwähnt, ist die Kopienzahl eines Plasmids im statistischen Mittel einer Population konstant. Welcher Mechanismus bewirkt die Stabilität der Kopienzahl? Bevor diese Frage behandelt wird, wenden wir uns einer anderen Frage zu: Falls die Kopienzahl > 1 ist, werden dann alle Plasmide einer Zelle einmal pro Generation repliziert?
